Duncan Tableland Gallery is situated at Tolga, a village nestled on the picturesque Atherton Tablelands of North Queensland. Showcased in the gallery is a collection of stunning photographs by one of Australia’s finest photographers, Bruce Duncan.
The innovative collection which is artistically displayed in the gallery, features vividly diverse images, from the spectacularly pristine expanses of chilly, yet heart-warming, Antarctica to the dusty red vastness of the Austalian outback.
A former aviator, Bruce has crewed flights nationally and internationally, in a career spanning for thirty-five years. He has operated across Australia, Papua New Guinea and South East Asia. His love for flying, coupled with his skills in photography bolstered by his eye for the unique and the unusual, has enabled him to capture strikingly dramatic images in some of the world's most remote locations and cultural settings.
In addition to breathtaking natural landscape, Bruce’s work depicts colourful wildlife and Australian heritage as well as charming, colourful cultural portraits of indigenous Papua New Guineans. His gallery also boasts a number of impressive night photographs – images that have been created using unique lighting conditions.
A multi-talented artist, much of his work is presented in beautifully shaped rustic bush frames that Bruce himself creates from discarded materials found in the Australian outback. Bruce’s limited edition photographs grace the walls of establishments around the world and his award-winning work has appeared in numerous publications.
