NHS Dental Treatments & Services

Our practice offers a variety of treatments to suit all budgets both NHS and private. Treatment plans can be adapted to include both NHS and private dentistry depending on your individual wants and needs. We also provide a finance option where the patient can lend from our finance company for those more expensive treatments and spread the cost. We have an open – minded approach to dentistry and strive to treat every patient as an individual at Carluke Dental Studio. We want you to understand your treatment and know why it is required and what your treatment will cost. We will provide written estimates for all work on request. We believe that if you understand why treatment is needed, you are on your first step to preventing future disease.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Nowadays there are so many options to improve your smile, from simple white fillings and professional tooth whitening to cosmetic veneers and porcelain crowns.

» Teeth Whitening

Tooth whitening is the process of removing stains and discoloration from teeth through a bleaching process which makes them look “whiter”. At Carluke Dental Studio we recommend the home tooth whitening kit.

» Cosmetic Crown

Over time the gum can recede away from the crown; this is known as the crown margin. The old crown can be removed and a new, deeper crown fitted to cover this area.

» Implants

A dental implant is a titanium "root" device used in dentistry to support restorations that resemble a tooth or group of teeth to replace missing teeth.

Prosthodontics

» Bridges

Why replace missing teeth? Your appearance is one reason. Another is that the gap left by a missing tooth can mean greater strain on the teeth at either side. Gaps can be filled in the form of a bridge. This option may be a favourable alternative to a small denture.

» Full and Partial Dentures

Complete dentures replace all the teeth, while a partial denture fills in the spaces created by missing teeth and prevents other teeth from changing position.

» Porcelain Veneers

Can be used to correct both color and shape problems, restorative work can fix your worn down, chipped, broken, misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped tooth.

Restorative Dentistry

» White Inlay

Traditional amalgam or silver fillings can be unsightly particularly near front of the mouth. Tooth coloured fillings where suitable, require less drilling of the tooth and can blend into the natural shade of your tooth.

» Cosmetic Crown

A crown, or cap, is a restoration that covers your entire tooth and is used to preserve a heavily broken down or filled tooth. A number of metal free crowns are now available which can improve the aesthetic of your smile.

» Bonding

A tooth-colored resin material is applied and hardened with a special light for repairing minor imperfections such as chips and stains. It can also be used to fill gaps between the teeth.

Preventive Dentistry

» Brushing

Daily brushing and cleaning between your teeth is important because it removes plaque. If the plaque isn't removed, it continues to build up, feeding on the food debris left behind and causing tooth decay and gum disease.

» Flossing

Dental floss comes in two sections that can dramatically help to keep teeth and gums under bridges and around braces plaque free. One segment is thin and stiff, which allows you to thread it through tight areas. The other segment is fuzzy, which facilitates the removal dental plaque.

» Fissure Sealants

Sealants are a safe and painless way or protecting your children's teeth from decay. A sealant is a protective plastic coating, which is applied to the biting surfaces of the back teeth. The sealant forms a hard shield that keeps food and bacteria from getting into the tiny grooves in the teeth and causing decay.

» Mouth Rinse

Plaque build-up can lead to inflamed gums. A mouth rinse can help by removing the plaque and reducing the inflammation.
